The Beauty of Flexibility - Being a Virtual Assistant

I’m sitting here at the Ottawa International Airport getting ready to head out to San Francisco, CA to visit a close friend and colleague. I’m going to spend four days in San Fran / Palo Alto area and then on Wednesday I am going to head to San Antonio, Texas to visit Sheri McConnell of the National Association of Women Writers, Association of Web Entrepreneurs and Create Your Association.

The beauty of my career choice, being a virtual assistant, is that I have the flexibility to do this. I can fly to locations across Canada, the US, overseas and further and still be attached to my entire company and my clients via my laptop and the internet. I think this is what appealed to me most about this type of business. The ability to be anywhere I choose and still get my work done and be connected to my clients.

I really enjoy traveling. When I was younger, I always thought that I would want a job that allowed me the ability to fly to various locations. I used to dream of what type of job I would need to have without focusing on the sales positions (Lord knows I hate sales!) I remember thinking about this often and focusing on what I would be doing, where I would travel, who I would meet… Before I even knew of “The Secret” and “The Laws of Attraction” I was manifesting what I wanted in my own right.

Last year I traveled approximately every one to two months. I was jet setting to California, New York City, the Bahamas, North Carolina, Las Vegas, Toronto, Vancouver… It was a whirlwind year and even though I was remote for many months of the year, I was still able to service my clients and build my business. Looking back, I now have exactly what I manifested. A dream job in which I can travel.
