Reporting from the Road
March 29, 2007
Good Morning!
I’m in San Antonio, Texas now and the weather here is beautiful! I’m having a wonderful time visiting my friends and clients. I just spent the last three days in San Francisco and the Palo Alto area in California. It was wonderful! San Francisco is a great city and it was nice to check out the surrounding areas. Here are some snapshots of my time spent there:
Here is one of the San Francisco skyline taken from Alcatraz Island:

Here is one of the Golden Gate Bridge which I drove across (yay!):

Here is one of the Pacific Ocean. I drove down Highway 1 which runs right along the Pacific Ocean - it’s breathtaking!:Â

I’ll report back in a few days but I wanted to touch base with my blog and send some photos! Who doesn’t love photos?
The Beauty of Flexibility - Being a Virtual Assistant
March 26, 2007
I’m sitting here at the Ottawa International Airport getting ready to head out to San Francisco, CA to visit a close friend and colleague. I’m going to spend four days in San Fran / Palo Alto area and then on Wednesday I am going to head to San Antonio, Texas to visit Sheri McConnell of the National Association of Women Writers, Association of Web Entrepreneurs and Create Your Association.
The beauty of my career choice, being a virtual assistant, is that I have the flexibility to do this. I can fly to locations across Canada, the US, overseas and further and still be attached to my entire company and my clients via my laptop and the internet. I think this is what appealed to me most about this type of business. The ability to be anywhere I choose and still get my work done and be connected to my clients.

Owning Your Identity: Why It’s Important to Stand on Your Own
March 16, 2007
Being in business over the past three years for myself has been one of the biggest learning lessons I have ever had. I’ve discovered that this experience teaches you more about who you are and what type of people are in this world than any other life experience could teach. Over the past three years, I have had both good and bad experiences with people (more good of course!) and it never ceases to amaze me… some people just don’t know how to have, and cherish, an identity of their own.
Being a virtual assistant, I encounter a lot of these identity issues. There are virtual assistants in business who are not interested in growing partnerships and relationships. A lot of them just don’t know the best way to grow an identity of their own and separate themselves from the crowd. This is one of the reasons I started The VA Coach - I want to coach people not only to launch a successful virtual assistance business but also how to find their inner identity and run their businesses morally and ethically.
